Julia Mancuso wins bronze in women’s super combined skiing

American skiing champion Julia Mancuso, whose three Olympic Alpine medals are more than any American woman, led after the downhill portion of the Monday’s women’s super combined, covering the 1.69-mile course in 1 minute, 42.68 seconds — .47 seconds faster than Switzerland’s Lara Gut, a speed-racing specialist who placed second Monday morning.

Maria Hoefl-Riesch has taken lead over Austria’s Nicole Hosp. Riesch is 2:34.62 combined time, .40 lead. Four skiers to Mancuso. Mancuso began run with a 1.04-second lead over Riesch.
