McCready left two children, Zander, 6 years, and Zayne, 9 months. She died a month after the death of her boyfriend, songwriter David Wilson. Wilson's death is still under investigation.
McCready's tragic death occurred after she was required to undergo rehabilitation and children separated from her. Previously, McCready's father expressed serious concern regarding the singer's life, including alcohol and prescription drug abuse and erratic behavior.
Tim McCready claimed his daughter's erratic behavior after the death of her boyfriend. "She slept all day," he said. "She drinks all night and Rx drugs."
He also said his daughter refuses to take a bath, do not take care of her two children, and violence. "She was screaming about everything," he said. Mindy McCready also noted that very verbally abusive to her first child.
The judge had ordered her hospitalized for three weeks. "There is clear and convincing reasons that the defendant in danger of being dangerous to herself or others," the court's decision. Billy McKnight, a former spouse who is the father of Mindy's first child, Zander, is also seeking legal action to make sure she is worth caring for her son.
