SERIES PREMIERE: Jack is back in a big way on the 12-episode reboot “24: Live Another Day” (Fox at 8 p.m.). In the two-hour opener, counterterrorism expert Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is being tracked by the CIA and he has exactly 24 hours to make things right, with the help of Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub), of course.
FINALE WATCH: On a far less harrowing note, “2 Broke Girls” (CBS at 8) finalizes its third season with Caroline encouraging Max to graduate high school; she failed to do so after missing one exam.
The remaining contestants take part in a dance duel on “Dancing With the Stars” (ABC at 8).
The top eight perform on “The Voice” (NBC at 8), and Pharrell, along with recently leaked judge for next season Gwen Stefani, swings by to perform.
The one-hour exclusive special “The Gospel of Jesus’s Wife” (Smithsonian Channel at 8) examines the evidence and related insights regarding the recent authentication of a codex in which Jesus refers to his wife.
FINALE WATCH: “The Tomorrow People” (CW at 9) wraps up its first season (which may be its last) with Russell realizing he’s made a huge mistake and Stephen trying to stop the extermination of humanity.
RETURNING SHOW: Reviewed by TV critic Hank Stuever above, “Louie” (FX at 10 and 10:30) returns for its fourth season with two back-to-back episodes that begin with a typical, albeit miserable day in Louie’s life.
Liz refuses to work with Red after finding out about her father on “The Blacklist” (NBC at 10), while Red seems consumed with a new case for the FBI.
FINALE WATCH: After ample creepiness this season, the second season of “Bates Motel” (A&E at 10) ends with Norman trying to get over a tragic event.
Beckett’s investigation of her mother’s death goes awry when someone she’s been tracking dies on “Castle” (ABC at 10).
